Prince’s Trust - Change a Girl’s Life Campaign

Last month we held a Brilliant Breakfast, with the aim of raising money for the ‘Change A Girls Life Campaign’ with the Prince’s Trust.

Why this matters now:

50% Of young women agree the pandemic has made their mental health worse.

50% Of young women feel more anxious now than before the pandemic.

26% Of young people feel ‘unable to cope with life’ since the start of the pandemic, increasing to 40% among those not in work, education, or training.

48% Of young people ‘can’t see an end’ to their unemployment and 65% agree that the longer they are jobless, the worse they feel about themselves.

Being a business that, over the years has had continued support from customers and partners, especially over the last few years when we have all found ourselves facing troubled times – we reflected on how we can help give back to those who are less fortunate. As Rhian mentioned on the day, being a predominantly female team, when we discovered the Brilliant Breakfast, we knew it was a cause we wanted to support.

Our Brilliant Breakfast took place last month in Waterloo Tea, based in the Wyndham Arcade in Cardiff city centre. With over 40 A&Ds from in and around Cardiff coming together to socialise over breakfast while raising money for a good cause. With the addition of a raffle, it allowed us to help raise more money, and give those who were unable to attend or further afield than Cardiff a way to help support the cause.

Our first prize, A White Company Avent Calendar was very kindly donated by Chrissy Rucker – founder of the White Company and Gold Patron of Women Supporting Women by the Prince’s Trust.

Won by the team at Loyn + Co.

Our second prize was a Bisley Multi-Drawer in coral, kindly donated by Bisley themselves.

Won by the team at Pentan.

Our final prize was a Norman Copenhagen Bit Stool, donated by the Momentum team.

Won by Abi Phillips

Congratulations to the lucky winners, please tag us in any images when you start to use them!

We are happy to announce that we raised £780. Thank you to all who were involved and to Aisha at Waterloo Tea for allowing us to use your space to host!
