The City Campus in Newport is home to the University of South Wales Business School and the Art, Design and Media facilties. The mainly open-plan interior is shared by academics, students and researchers and the space had to suit the differing demands.
"It was a pleasure working with PJ, Nicole and the team at Momentum. They were an important part of the design process, working objectivealy to deliver the brief. They provided quality furnishings within budget which contributed significantly to the Interior Architecture, the student experience and the overall creation of an insirational place for learning." Mark Smith, Mot MacDonald
As both an education facility and a central Newport landmark, a key part of the city centre regeneration, the space has been designed to foster a creative environment and inspire entrepreneurial spirit. The building was a winner of the RIBA award and the Mix Interiors Educational Facility of the Year award in 2011. Momentum worked to ensure that this project remained innovative, modern and high-quality and achieved the objective of the University to “enhance the student experience."
